She is a member of the Minority Executive Directors Committee and is a voice for justice. I am excited to see her win the primary and to know that we will all continue to help her get to the Senate. Chris Wallace of Fox News invited Bill Clinton to talk about his CLIMATE-CHANGE INITIATIVE…once into the interview Wallace began asking Clinton about Bin Laden…The questions were misleading and to Clinton’s credit he took Wallace on and laid out the truth about his efforts while President to protect America from Terrorism.. HUGE STORY Spy Agencies tell the truth

            But who will listen

A report released in April that was compiled by 21 various Spy Agencies and their experts and they conclude that the Iraq War has worsened the Terror Threat…. Now this is what us people on the streets have been saying for months and they are not experts….

Our president and his team keep saying that they are fighting the good fight against terrorism and are winning…. Naw…the truth is that we are losing and losing in a big way…

We were so dumb that we allowed a small ban of terrorist to dictate how we would fight and how long we would fight…Not very smart for a world power….

Today they move more troops into Baghdad and begin to build a barrier around the city to keep the insurgents out….what they don’t realize that as they limit and control the roads into the city that should they need to escapee that this strategy will work against them…and make them easy targets for the enemy if we need to do a quick retreat…

We are losing not just the war in Iraq but we are creating an enemy that will be looking for vengeance for many years.

HERO’s voices for change

LT. Ehren Watada has refused to go back to Iraq and will be prosecuted for his refusal to go to this war which he feels is the wrong war for the wrong reasons…Recently I had some moments with Ehren and got to know this humble but strong individual. I informed him that he was my hero and that we all wish we could be as strong as he. He reminded me that we must all stand with him and others against this war.

Another hero is Spc. Suzanne Swift 22 years of age that is willing to speak out against the sexual harassment that she suffered and that most women suffer in the military and in particular Iraq…This is an enormous American Scandal and should be investigated by Congress and stopped and all those involved prosecuted. She is willing to make her pain public is so that others will not suffer what she did. She does not want to go back to Iraq.

For both of these individuals we should be writing to them to support them.  We should also write our newspapers, our elected officials and demand Justice.

Culture of Fear

The political right continues to build a culture of fear in the hearts of many Americans.  This election season the NEO-CONS will continue to push fear as their main staple of their propaganda, the issues remain the same TERRORISM, IMMIGRATION AND GAY MARRIAGE.  They want to separate us with these unfounded fears and we should not allow them to make us run away from each other.

While they push this agenda of fear we must seek the truth and act on it.

GOT WORKERS?

Many growers across the country have not had enough workers and some crops have been harvested late and not good for shipping while others were left in the field to rot. May these growers will finally find that the militarization of the border is wrong. And then they must vote against those who voted for these ill designed policies…

 

GREEN CHILI …UMMMM

Last night a good friend and his wife had me over for some green chili, which was complimented with beans, rice and tortillas. It was a great meal …exotic…INTOXICATING….so today I want to thank Juan Jose Bocanegra and his wife Tina for making me feel good about life…after all is there any thing better than some good hot green chili…???

After I finally got home I finished off my evening with a piece of a specialPlum Pie made by a very close friend Michele Storms. ( I think she is my cousin)  LIFE IS GOOD….and so is the food made with love.

Our cultural foods help us to remember our childhoods and remind us of so many special moments and friends. I suggest that you cook up your favorite cultural meal and invite me to share a part of your history…I of course want to eat my way through my cultural education. ..ha ha

 

EAT THE FOOD OF ANOTHER CULTURE AND ENJOY….
